In the middle

Here are a few pictures of the progress. I had to put the one of our friend Dave working like crazy, he has been here almost every night helping! Thank you Dave!

Front door

One of the first things I did was paint the front door. The peanut butter color wasn't working for us.

Tower of boxes

We are in at last! We started stacking empty boxes yesterday, only a few more boxes to unload.

Busy!!

Russ and I have been working like crazy trying to get things done around here. Got a nice picture of BR putting in his first of three toilets. We didn't want to take the toilet over the new carpet last week so we threw it out the window onto the grass. Awesome!

Master

The master bedroom still needs some pictures and decos, but I'm loving the new soft carpet and the clean homey feeling. Mmmmmm.

Jenna's room

As you can see, the shelves came off the walls the first day we got the house. They were added to the 2800 lb truckload trip to the dump! Jenna picked her bedspread as well, the orange isn't that bright, but we made it work with the dark pink and purple. Jenna picked out the designs he wanted for the wall after I googled a few ideas. Love how it turned out.

Jaidas room

The kids got to pick out their bedspreads, I used one of the flowers on jaidas bedspread to make the big flower on the wall.

Kitchen with floor

The floors are done! They are beautiful!! Counters come on Thursday.

Before and afters

This cabinet is in the upstairs hallway, it's not all the way done yet. Still need to add the piece of wood on the side to cover the damage. It's getting used a lot with the laundry shoot, tonight it was the mail shoot to send letters.

The real before

This is a better picture of the before. Plain, flat doors with rounded edges. Boring!

Kitchen

I hesitate to post this because we aren't all the way done with the kitchen. Waiting on dark wood floors to be installed and the new countertops. But the cabinets are DONE. D.O.N.E. The ceiling and walls were painted Monday and I installed hardware yesterday. So happy how they turned out, now we are working on painting trim and doors throughout the house.

Cabinet Week

Last Sunday night we got the keys to our new house! Of course I couldn't sleep that night thinking of all the things that needed to happen. Monday I took the kids over and we started scrubbing the house. That night I took down all the cabinet doors in the kitchen, laundry and hall closet upstairs.
Tuesday my new neighbor and bestie came over to help me sand the doors. While they sanded I cut and nailed on the wood trim to the flat doors. With their help I was able to get them all done, all 50!
Jenna and I filled in nail holes and sanded the next day. I borrowed my friends paint sprayer and started spraying with them all on the floor. After one pass of that my back wasn't having it. I made a little spray booth with my saw horses and a 1x4 and sprayed while Jenna and Big Russ brought the doors to me and set them back down to dry. With 2 coats of primer on both sides, 2 coats of top coat and 50 doors...I figure I sprayed about 375 times.
We love how they turned out, and are so excited to put them up tomorrow. I'll post before and afters...when it's all done.

It wasn't just cabinet week, I ripped out shelves, mirrors in bathrooms, painted front door, patched walls, pulled up flooring in master bath...the list goes on! We are making progress and will be ready for floors soon.
