Swing

The kids were finishing up the movie Megamind on Saturday and I noticed Jenna was swinging for most of it.  I got a good laugh at how much she loves to swing.  

You may be asking yourself, why is the couch in the hall?  Answer: It was still on the carpet sliders from the tent day and the kids put it there to swing from.  

Or, you may be asking yourself, why do they have a swing in their hallway?  It's actually my home made (wish I had the real thing, but I'm too cheap to buy it) TRX strap for working out, the kids just use it as a swing.

Then, Jaida wanted a turn...she hasn't had as much practice as Jenna.

Schools Out

School is out today and tomorrow+raining outside=improvise. Working like a charm.

The Truth

This is the other reason I didn't want to do the pillow project, the mess. 

The mess is cleaned up now and I'm left with some fun pillows. So all in all it was worth it.

Pillows

 I've been wanting to make pillows to add a bit of color to the boring tan couches for quite a while.

I don't know what I was waiting for, ok, maybe I do.

In recent sewing projects I had been so frustrated with the machine I didn't want to do that again.  I think I've finally figured the machine out, and today's project went off without a hitch.  Yay!

I've got 3 made so far, one more to go.

Coloring Eggs

At the end of the long day yesterday we got to relax, have dinner and color eggs with some friends. They turned out pretty good, I thought.

Wooden Shoe

 It was a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday at the Wooden Shoe!

We had a busy day, we got to have M with us for the whole day, she was great the whole time.

The drive down to the farm was quiet (thanks to a movie), I got to chat with my Mom on the phone.

I had followed a new van from the exit off the freeway, the whole time I thought it was a friend in my ward.  While waiting in line to get in I see her head pop out of the window and it's B.Lowder!  Such a fun surprise to see my favorite Vancouver-ite.

The drive was worth it, the field was absolutely gorgeous.

My favorites are the multicolored rows.

 Here we are getting our boots on, which we didn't really need...but they were cute.

Speaking of cute...love these two kiddos.

 These kids were great the whole time, although we didn't have a lot of time to spend playing (because Jaida didn't get to come with us, so I had to be back in time for the bus drop off...I made it with 2 minutes to spare) we made the most of it.

After the tulips we picked Jaida up, went to the Primary party at the church (the kids kinda watched Disney's Robin Hood, while I was catching up on blogs and WWF), picked up Russ and dinner then went to the Yee's for the annual Easter egg coloring party.

Such a busy, fun day!

Cleaning out the garage with scraps of wood, why not have a bonfire?

Weather

Let's talk about the weather.

What is up with this rain and cold?  We have been setting records all over the place from rainiest to longest without hitting 60 degrees.

On the msnbc.com banner at the top it has the weather for our area, notice on the bottom right of the weather it says "(Change)".  Yes, I would like to change the weather to sunny skies and mid 60's please, you know...the way it's supposed to be this time of year.

Okay, maybe I'm dreaming about the sunny skies part, but the temperature change would be nice.

Luckily, this next week is "supposed" to be much better, here's hoping!

Lately

 I dusted off the table saw and got to work last week.  I made this frame to hold the kids pictures I printed out and attached to foam board.  The pictures are 12x12.

 In other news, some friends in the ward are moving and wanted to sell this scooter.  I was so happy when we got it, seemed like we lucked out a little as there were a lot of people who wanted it.  :)  It's an electric scooter and only goes about 25 mph, top speed, but it's so fun!  I'm sure if you live in my neighborhood you're going to be seeing a lot of us riding around.

Peggy'd

You've heard about being "Jimmered", well, we've been "Peggy'd", My Mom came to visit over the weekend, let's just say the house looks much more springy! We had fun with her here and are always so sad when she has to leave. We get a fun reminder every day that she was here when we look at the table (imagine a cute spring table cloth under all the cute-ness, I guess I took that picture before the trip to JoAnn's). 

Thanks for coming to see us, Ma! We love you! Also, I decided to make rolls for dinner Sunday, which turned into Ma making them and cinnamon rolls. Mmmmmmm!

Color

I needed some color in this place, I finished this 2.5'x5' painting today to go above the fireplace.

I could listen to his sweet little voice sing all day.

Photo Shoot

 I took the kids pictures on Tuesday, it was pretty spur of the moment.  

I took Jenna and Logan's picture then Jenna wanted to take mine, that's why I'm in the mix.

Jaida was at school so when she got home I made her change and get ready.  We were lucky to have the sun out for a nice day.

I was so pleased how they turned out, enjoy!

 

Just finished this painting over the weekend for a client.

We had a great Family Home Evening last week, the kids were attentive, and very interested.  The Spirit was very strong as we got to share our testimonies of these 5 things.  If you haven't done this lesson, or haven't done it for a while, I recommend it!  

Snow Day

 

We had a snow day about a week and a half ago!  I got up at 5:30 to go to the gym and checked my phone, saw the schools were closed and went back to bed.  The next thing I heard was Jaida coming into our room saying, "It's a WINTER WONDERLAND outside!!!"  The kids were so excited!  I was too, we quickly ate, got dressed and got out the sled.  I knew better than to wait to play in the snow.  We got to have Kenzie come play too!  The only time we love our sloped driveway is when it has snowed, it was the perfect sledding hill for everyone.

 

 

Good thing we didn't wait, the snow was melted by lunchtime.

At least we got a couple hours of snow this season!
