Last week my friend Jillyn and I hiked up to the tippie top of Multnomah Falls with all the kiddos.  I was so impressed how well the little guys did!  They walked 98% of the time.  The hike is about 1.2 miles uphill!

Today I went in to Jenna's class for her small graduation.  It was sweet listening to the kids sing their Kindergarten songs and see how much they love their teacher.
Each of the kids got a certificate.
Here is Mrs. Guerra and Jenna on our way out the door.  I will miss going in to help with the class, Kindergarten is so much fun!  The good thing is that we all live in the same neighborhood so we will get to see her teacher throughout the summer.
When I walked into the classroom they were all singing in the front, Mrs. Guerra came up to me and told me how much she loved her stationery I made for her.  She said she had been showing everyone who came in how awesome it was.  So glad she loved it!

Last Day of School

Here are the girls on their first day of school, way back in September, 2010.  I couldn't believe how small Jaida looked, she has completely grown out of those pants she is wearing.  Jenna lost that pink jacket (still no idea where it is) and is now wearing the jacket Jaida was wearing.  I just can't believe how big they look after a few short months!
This morning we took a picture with the girls and the candy lei's we made for their teachers.  They both wanted to wear a dress on their last day.  So proud of these girls, and so grateful for their awesome teachers they had.

Teacher Gifts

I made up some personalized stationery for the girls teachers as a thank you gift.
I did all of the work in Illustrator.

3rd Grade Celebration

Jaida had a fun celebration in her class yesterday.  The kids wrote, directed and acted out small plays about what they'd been learning about throughout the year.  They were really fun and very well done.  I was proud of Jaida, she had several parts and did an excellent job.

Obviously I'm out of the habit of taking my nicer camera to these types of events.  My cell phone had to get the job done this time.

Caution!

We were headed to a "new" park that was redone, parts of the sidewalk haven't been fixed yet. Logan saw the cones and tape, ran up to them, held his hands up to make sure that I stopped and didn't go through the construction zone. I got a good laugh at him telling me not to get hurt and to STOP!

Swim

Thanks to our framily out here we have been getting soaked. The kids have been in heaven and Logan can finally stop watching the big clock wondering when it's summer time! Although the weather isn't the best, we will brave the cold to have some fun...and every once in a while the sun actually comes out!

Kindergarten Program

Jenna was so excited to sing her little heart out last night.
She sang all the songs and did a fantastic job.

Towards the end of the program she looked like she was going to burst into tears.  As they were leaving the stage to go back to the classrooms she was crying.  My guess is that when she told me she was tired before leaving the house, she meant it.  I asked her this morning why she was crying and she told me she couldn't see us in the dark gym where the audience sat...and that she was too tired.
Whatever the reason, I was just happy she didn't cry during the program.

I Wish

Today has been good, well except the treadmill part, I wasn't into running this morning.
I got to go to the school for a volunteer lunch with the girls' classes.  There was good food and it was fun to chat with other moms and teachers.
On the way out to the car from school Logan saw a big dandelion with seeds, ready for wishing.  He was so excited and said, "Oh! I'm gonna make a wish!"
He crouched down as far as he could and quietly said, "I wish I was a race car!"
He got right up and with a big grin ran to the van to meet me and gave me a big hug.
This was my favorite part of the day.  Favorite.
(Photo: Logan isn't acting, he's RE-enacting what took place at the school.)

Parachute

The kids and I made a parachute today, after running up and down the stairs too many times they wanted to take it outside.  I was surprised Logan wasn't more into throwing it, Jenna was the one who loved it.  We were out there for an hour throwing it up in the air.

Logan decided he would rather spend his time in the dirt, as usual.  If he's not riding his scooter he's making "birthday cakes" with the dirt.

X versus Check

Lately I've been finding myself hoping Logan doesn't call me an "X".
I'm sure the girls have put this into his head, but now it's starting to get a little out of hand.  In many arguments I keep hearing, NO! You're an X!!  I'M A CHECK!!
I guess it's better than hearing other words being used.
Logan keeps putting whole groups of things into the "X" or "Check" category, for example,
"girls are X's, boys are checks".
That boy cracks me up.

Gardener

This is one proud gardener right here!
A couple weeks ago we went to Burgerville and the kiddos got seeds and a little pot to grow them in with their kid's meal.  She planted them last week and it's been so fun to watch how fast they grow.  We got a bigger pot today and she was loving planting these babies in their new home.  Now, let's hope we don't kill them.  :)

Swing

The kids were finishing up the movie Megamind on Saturday and I noticed Jenna was swinging for most of it.  I got a good laugh at how much she loves to swing.
You may be asking yourself, why is the couch in the hall?  Answer: It was still on the carpet sliders from the tent day and the kids put it there to swing from.
Or, you may be asking yourself, why do they have a swing in their hallway?  It's actually my home made (wish I had the real thing, but I'm too cheap to buy it) TRX strap for working out, the kids just use it as a swing.

Then, Jaida wanted a turn...she hasn't had as much practice as Jenna.

Schools Out

School is out today and tomorrow+raining outside=improvise. Working like a charm.
