Juicy Jog-a-thon

Two years ago Logan and I went to the jogathon to cheer jaida on, the lawn was wet from sprinklers being on earlier so Logan's shoes got really wet. When we got home Logan took off his shoe and felt his wet sock and said, "my socks are JUICY!"

This year the lawn was wet from rain but I was smarter and we wore our rain boots. The girls had fun running, Logan and I stayed at the station marking the kids' papers on their backs as they ran by.

Way to go girls!

Pioneer Pillow

Jaida needed to make a patchwork quilt pillow for her pioneer trek next week in school. I reminded her how to sew and she was off, it took about an hour and a half worth of time to finish this. I am so proud of Jaida!

Field

I met my friend Heidi at the park by her house and took photos in the field nearby. The kids didn't like the bees in the field but ventured in anyway. What a cool spot!

This Week

We have had such nice weather this week! Sunshine does a body good...unless you're in it too long like me and you get burned. We went to plenty of parks, had water fights, picnics and bike rides.

I finished a painting and give it to a happy customer today. I'd say it's been a good week.

A week in photos

Jenna getting muddied up at the Philpot residence, my favorite part of that day was walking in their house and Logan announcing "the McMurdie's are here!"

Tried a made up recipe, chicken enchilada pizza...we all loved it.

We dusted off the bikes and took them for a long ride to the parks.

Egg Drop

 The Egg Drop was canceled last week because of rain, today was the day.  Jaida used a 2 liter bottle that had slits in the tip to make it cushion when landing. As you can see she had plenty of padding on the inside too!

 Jenna happened to have recess during the drop so Logan got to go play for a bit with her.

 I was the official photographer, so I took a bunch of shots.  I was surprised how many eggs survived, I'd say about 60% of the eggs made it...even with so many funny contraptions.

Oceanside

Grandma Peggy is out for the weekend so that means we get to go play! We wanted to go to the coast today it was perfect, sunny, not too hot, good sand and ended it Tillamook ice cream of course. I could have stayed there all day watching the waves. We brought the ball again for round 2, it was much better this time, i had to join in the jumping.

Temple

The kiddos had the day off of school today so we took them to the new visitors center at the Portland temple. After the visitors center we went to lunch at the olive garden, and hit Deseret book. The weather was fantastic.

Easter Sunday

 The kiddos were looking smashing in their Easter outfits, we took a few pictures before church in the backyard. 

 Don't mind the horribly photoshopped photo of all of us, hey at least it has us all in it.  I guess I really need a decent tripod.

 We pulled up to the church and the trees outside are looking so pretty with the blossoms.

We had a wonderful day, the speakers and lessons were fantastic. The sunshine really made it so nice, the frosting on the cinnamon bun as it were. Speaking of cinnamon buns, I made a batch for dinner with the Philpots along with some rolls.  I used my Mama's recipe this time and boy oh boy were they delicious! 

Today I was feeling so blessed for my testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, his sacrifice for each of us, wonderful family and incredible friends. I am so blessed!

The Yee's invited us over for our 3rd annual Easter egg coloring party. This year Heidi used the power of Pinterest to help our eggs get some deep nice color, we were all impressed how awesome the color was.

We met up with the JPs for a neighborhood egg hunt, such a beautiful morning for the search!

Sometimes while I'm searching through old photos to find just the one I'm looking for I find little gems like this. Seriously, if that isn't the cutest face you've ever seen!

Spring Break Project

I saw plans for these little tents online and have been wanting to make them. With the kids out of school all last week I decided it was time. We headed out to home depot and got the PVC pipe and 1x3 strips of wood, after a few cuts with the miter saw and a few holes to fit

the pipe it was time for Jaida to get the sander going. I wanted to be able

to completely collapse these for storage so I did 3 PVC pipe rods for the fabric to drape over and attach to. A twin size sheet would fit perfectly with a slot sewn on one side for the pipe to fit through. I used fabric I already had for these so some of them are bigger than a twin size. Anyway, the kids have been enjoying them and I enjoy that I can take them down easily.

Beach

We hit the beach today for spring break. Beautiful day! We brought my exercise ball to bury and jump from. It worked a little, but I didn't have my good shovel. It was a bit breezy so we drove down to Tillamook for ice cream. Mmmmm. Good day!
