Cabinet Week

Last Sunday night we got the keys to our new house! Of course I couldn't sleep that night thinking of all the things that needed to happen. Monday I took the kids over and we started scrubbing the house. That night I took down all the cabinet doors in the kitchen, laundry and hall closet upstairs.
Tuesday my new neighbor and bestie came over to help me sand the doors. While they sanded I cut and nailed on the wood trim to the flat doors. With their help I was able to get them all done, all 50!
Jenna and I filled in nail holes and sanded the next day. I borrowed my friends paint sprayer and started spraying with them all on the floor. After one pass of that my back wasn't having it. I made a little spray booth with my saw horses and a 1x4 and sprayed while Jenna and Big Russ brought the doors to me and set them back down to dry. With 2 coats of primer on both sides, 2 coats of top coat and 50 doors...I figure I sprayed about 375 times.
We love how they turned out, and are so excited to put them up tomorrow. I'll post before and afters...when it's all done.

It wasn't just cabinet week, I ripped out shelves, mirrors in bathrooms, painted front door, patched walls, pulled up flooring in master bath...the list goes on! We are making progress and will be ready for floors soon.

Finished Beds

Since I wasn't there for the finished product, these are the texts I got from my brother and sister of the beds. They look comfy, the kids say they can't wait to sleep up there...but really, who wouldn't want to sleep there when they look so fun?

Birthday

It was my birthday Thursday, usually I'm in Utah but this year we came back a bit early.
I was spoiled by friends, got to hang out with this cute little baby and her mama for lunch then had dinner made for us after swimming. And, just look at that crazy cake, it was delicious too.
Thank you family and friends for helping me celebrate! I am so blessed!

Mt Pleasant

My parents have decided to move to Mt Pleasant, we drove down a few times this trip to help get things ready. We had fun walking up Main St to the dairy freeze to get our bishop shakes and free root beer floats (if you get a red gum ball from the machine, which Jenna and Dustin did). We walked past old friends houses and where my Mom lived, one night on our way back to the homestead we saw these girls on horses riding on main street. Life in a small town.

Beds

We've had out work cut out for us this trip, these beds were on the agenda and we finally got them done yesterday. I've learned my lesson of showing awesome ideas from Pinterest to my parents...they make me do them! :) my dad and I worked on these all day last week and got quite a bit done, we finished it Friday night and Saturday morning. Carpet is going in this week then the beds can be made and doors hung. It was a team effort, thanks for the help everyone.

AF Canyon

Because of the forest fires we weren't able to go to our favorite spot up the canyon, we headed up for family night Monday and spent some quality time around the fire. My favorite.

Kayak

My friend julianne invited us to go kayaking by her house, the kids and I did this last year and it was such a blast, so when the invite came again we were excited. Big Russ got to join in this time too.

Sunday dinner

Did I mention it's birthday month yet? We celebrated Big Russ and trevans birthday Sunday at my parents house. Cinnamon rolls were on the menu! Peggy Sue Buns came through again! We love Sunday dinners.

Party!

We celebrated kaden and trevans birthdays at matt and Sara's house Friday. What a party, great food, water and family. The kids loved the relay races up and down the huge slide.

Birthday month!

I think we are celebrating seven birthdays this month we started with Laina's birthday party last night. What a sweet little girl she is, Mike and Mauri had the family over for dinner and cookies... and when I say cookies I mean awesomely good, delicious cookies! Let the parties begin.

Cousins

The kids are getting their fair share of cousin time from the Staker side as well as the McMurdie side. We got to go swimming today with the Smith kids, they were all in heaven! After swimming for hours we went to lunch, I could tell it was a good day when Logan fell asleep on the ride home (probably from going down the slide at the rec center about 100 times!)

Fire Season

No rain for 30 something days, hot, dry air isn't a good combination for fire season. These are a couple of pictures i took while driving, one from a fire in Lavan and the other above Alpine just started a couple hours ago.

Manti Pageant

We drove down to Manti Saturday after the parade to go see the Pageant. I haven't been for about 15 years, it was fun to take the kids.
This is the temple Russ and I were sealed in, so I love to go back and visit with the kiddos.

Weston and Gage came along, some of the grandkiddies with Grandma.

Play

Of course we got to play a little last week too. We got to go to the Lehi Roundup barbecue, stock parade and rodeo with my whole family. They were such fun nights I love the roundup!
