Kindergarten Program

Jenna was so excited to sing her little heart out last night.
She sang all the songs and did a fantastic job.

Towards the end of the program she looked like she was going to burst into tears.  As they were leaving the stage to go back to the classrooms she was crying.  My guess is that when she told me she was tired before leaving the house, she meant it.  I asked her this morning why she was crying and she told me she couldn't see us in the dark gym where the audience sat...and that she was too tired.
Whatever the reason, I was just happy she didn't cry during the program.

I Wish

Today has been good, well except the treadmill part, I wasn't into running this morning.
I got to go to the school for a volunteer lunch with the girls' classes.  There was good food and it was fun to chat with other moms and teachers.
On the way out to the car from school Logan saw a big dandelion with seeds, ready for wishing.  He was so excited and said, "Oh! I'm gonna make a wish!"
He crouched down as far as he could and quietly said, "I wish I was a race car!"
He got right up and with a big grin ran to the van to meet me and gave me a big hug.
This was my favorite part of the day.  Favorite.
(Photo: Logan isn't acting, he's RE-enacting what took place at the school.)

Parachute

The kids and I made a parachute today, after running up and down the stairs too many times they wanted to take it outside.  I was surprised Logan wasn't more into throwing it, Jenna was the one who loved it.  We were out there for an hour throwing it up in the air.

Logan decided he would rather spend his time in the dirt, as usual.  If he's not riding his scooter he's making "birthday cakes" with the dirt.

X versus Check

Lately I've been finding myself hoping Logan doesn't call me an "X".
I'm sure the girls have put this into his head, but now it's starting to get a little out of hand.  In many arguments I keep hearing, NO! You're an X!!  I'M A CHECK!!
I guess it's better than hearing other words being used.
Logan keeps putting whole groups of things into the "X" or "Check" category, for example,
"girls are X's, boys are checks".
That boy cracks me up.

Gardener

This is one proud gardener right here!
A couple weeks ago we went to Burgerville and the kiddos got seeds and a little pot to grow them in with their kid's meal.  She planted them last week and it's been so fun to watch how fast they grow.  We got a bigger pot today and she was loving planting these babies in their new home.  Now, let's hope we don't kill them.  :)

Swing

The kids were finishing up the movie Megamind on Saturday and I noticed Jenna was swinging for most of it.  I got a good laugh at how much she loves to swing.
You may be asking yourself, why is the couch in the hall?  Answer: It was still on the carpet sliders from the tent day and the kids put it there to swing from.
Or, you may be asking yourself, why do they have a swing in their hallway?  It's actually my home made (wish I had the real thing, but I'm too cheap to buy it) TRX strap for working out, the kids just use it as a swing.

Then, Jaida wanted a turn...she hasn't had as much practice as Jenna.

The Truth

This is the other reason I didn't want to do the pillow project, the mess.
The mess is cleaned up now and I'm left with some fun pillows. So all in all it was worth it.

Pillows

I've been wanting to make pillows to add a bit of color to the boring tan couches for quite a while.
I don't know what I was waiting for, ok, maybe I do.
In recent sewing projects I had been so frustrated with the machine I didn't want to do that again.  I think I've finally figured the machine out, and today's project went off without a hitch.  Yay!
I've got 3 made so far, one more to go.
