Beach

We hit the beach today for spring break. Beautiful day! We brought my exercise ball to bury and jump from. It worked a little, but I didn't have my good shovel. It was a bit breezy so we drove down to Tillamook for ice cream. Mmmmm. Good day!

Snow!

We finally got some snow around here on Thursday, a little late in the season but we'll take it. The schools were delayed 2 hours so we got to play a little bit and make a snowman/mouse. Hard to believe it was snowy, I got the lawn mowed yesterday in the sunshine.

Brasada Ranch

Russ and I got away for the weekend, sans kids! We haven't done that in well...ever!
We got a little deal on Groupon for a place down by Bend, Oregon called Brasada Ranch.
The drive out we went over Mt Hood and it was beautiful!
The first night was kinda cloudy, but Saturday was perfect weather.  We got up and went for a hike up to Spirit Rock, got ready and went into Bend for some shopping. When we got back we wanted to hike the taller hill behind Spirit Rock so we got our hikin' shoes on and went for it. It was a good little hike (my calves are still sore from it).
Our cabin backed up to the golf course, I did what I do best...find golf balls.  Ha! That's for you, Ma. We grabbed some groceries in Bend and had ourselves a little BBQ.
We loved the hot tub on the back of the cabin, perfect after shopping and hiking all day!

The view was great, really private.

The drive home was beautiful, even with the snow over Santiam Pass it was so pretty to see the snow covered trees along that scenic drive.
A HUGE thanks to the Yees and Philpots for watching our kids, we have amazing friends and feel so blessed to have them in our lives!

The First Ride

The girls wanted to ride their bikes tonight, had to pump up a couple tires and they were off. Can these kids stop getting so big please?! Jaida looks so old to me.

Headboard

This was a pretty simple headboard to make, I kinda followed the plans from Ana-White.com, it is supposed to look line the Mason headboard from pottery barn. Just used 1x4s, 1x6s, glue and brad nails to put this baby together. I wanted it to hang on the wall so I made a cleat to hang it from. From shopping for wood to hang up on the wall was about 26 hours, not too shabby. My friend Jillyn picked out the paint color, I used spray bottle to water it down so we could see the grain through the paint. I added a little black in the corners and put a brown glaze over the whole thing and it was done.

Dr Suess

The kids celebrated Dr. Suess' birthday today at school, we had green eggs and bacon for breakfast and the girls enjoyed their truffula tree hairstyles.
